Dear WRAM experts
I have never used WRAM and I am in the preliminary stages of understanding
this model's capabilities and whether it can be of use in the delivery of
Sustainable Water Strategies (SWS's).
SWS's will be delivered across five regions in Victoria. They involve the
identification of regional water resource issues and options for addressing
them. Options may include water transfers (as per what happens now in
northern irrigation districts), however, they may also include the transfer
or reallocation of existing uses of water through the introduction of
increased use of recycled water or stormwater. What I am seeking is a
model that will be able to compare consistently the merits of various
options identified within a region to assist in a decision making framework
and perhaps prioritisation process.
I am seeking the assistance of persons experienced in the development and
operation of WRAM to advise on the ability of this model to do this or
possibly how easy (or difficult) it would be to modify the model to do
this.
Is anyone (preferably located in Melbourne) available to meet with a group
from the Department of Sustainability and Environment to discuss this
matter?
Kind regards
Marnie Ireland
